Scoring 21 goals in 64 appearances – mostly as a substitute – City are said to be keen to insert a buy-back clause as part of any summer transfer. West Ham are being strongly linked with a move for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud. The 30-year-old is rumoured to not be in Arsene Wenger’s plans for the next season as the Gunners attempt to break their way back into the top four.Giroud bagged 12 league goals for the north London side as they ended a disappointing season in fifth place and with Europa League qualification. But if the French international does depart this summer, surely he can expect to attract interest from bigger clubs around Europe? Here, talkSPORT takes a look at five more realistic targets for West Ham as they attempt to bring in a striker to the London Stadium.  5 5 Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool) – Sturridge has dedicated his summer holidays to rehabilitation as he seeks to put his injuries behind him. The Liverpool striker is undoubtedly hugely talented, but his lack of match-fitness is something boss Jurgen Klopp simply can’t afford to rely on. A fresh start for the 27-year-old could be best for every party involved. Lucas Perez (Arsenal) – Perez endured a testing season in north London after seeing little action under Arsene Wenger, in what was a hugely underwhelming campaign for the Spaniard. The 28-year-old is said to be attracting interest from LaLiga in the form of Sevilla and his former club Deportivo La Coruna, but he could be tempted to have another crack at the Premier League with the Hammers. Wilfried Bony (Manchester City) – Having struggled for minutes on loan at Stoke City, Bony will be determined to get regular action under his belt ahead of next year’s World Cup. The Ivorian, who seemingly has no future at Manchester City, would likely be one of the cheaper options West Ham could attain during the summer window. Martin Braithwaite (Toulouse) – Scoring 11 goals in 34 Ligue 1 games, Braithwaite has attracted interest from across Europe thanks to his exploits for Toulouse. The Norwegian international has declared the ‘time to leave has come,’ and could be available for around £15million if the Hammers see off the likes of FC Koln and Southampton to secure his signature. 5 5 5last_img
