first_imgSt. Louis – Drake University men’s golfer Tim Lim was named the MVC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, the league office announced. Lim took home medalist honors at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational after a strong final round and a win in a three-way playoff.Lim fired a 209 (72-71-66) in the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational to lead the Bulldogs to a fourth-place finish at the par-71 Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill. Lim tallied a field-best 13 birdies, including a string of six in eight holes early in the final round. Lim’s final-round 66 is the lowest single-round total for the Bulldogs since Lucas Scherf posted a 65 in February of 2019 and is the second-lowest round for Drake since 2013-14.  The junior finished the third round tied with Belmont’s Evan Davis and Southern Utah’s Jake Vincent before winning in a three-way playoff on No. 18. The win is Lim’s first of his collegiate career and the first medalist for Drake since Scherf won the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate last February.The Bulldogs will return to action in their home meet, the Zach Johnson Invitational, on Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Print Friendly Versionlast_img
