But Live Nation’s Ticketmaster seems to be making strides with their Verified Fan program. Verified Fan separates actual music fans from bots and scalpers by allowing fans to pre-register to order tickets. Once the system verifies an actual human is looking to purchase tickets as opposed to a bot, the fan receives a pre-registration code that “unlocks the opportunity to purchase tickets.”According to Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, they’ve had a 90 percent success rate so far, which is crucial for fans who want to land a ticket to see their favorite artists. The demand is always higher than the number of tickets available. For example, more than 10 million Adele fans attempted to buy tickets for her 2016 tour, but only 400,000 seats were available. As demand for live shows continues to increase, blocking bots is good for both fans and business alike.”There’s probably not been an industry with compounded growth as consistent as the live music business,” Rapino said. “Live concerts continually ranked in the top three things that a consumer wants to attend every year as their escape.”Apple Secures Deal With Warner Music Grouplast_img read more
